John Sterling Saved From Ida

Great story.

Apparently Sterling still lives in Edgewater. He had a fire in his apartment there a few years ago.

I didn't know he was that old.
He already had been broadcasting for 19 years before taking over the Yankees' lead role in 1989.

Sterling's tenure has begun to surpass those of other storied broadcasters, although KTNQ's Jaime Jarrín has been calling Dodgers games for 62 years, a streak that is still ongoing and may never be equalled or broken.
