John Tesh gone from Magic?

Nevermind, his show is running, but it sounds like Magic is doing/scheduling the music (with tags), running their liners, etc. but all from JT they are running are his talking bits. They had just been running a feed but now they are doing it themselves apparently. It fits the overall sound of the station better.

If the station is getting it's programming over the internet for Tesh and had some problem that it knew ahead of time they might get a download of just Tesh's bits and sub in their own music in between. We use to do this with the Evening Zoo In The Country when they would have trouble with their internet feed during regular show times. We were told by listeners that the show sounded much better than normal last night and sure enough it would ones where we subbed our music in between Cory's bits which I guess blended better with our station.

They're doing it again tonight....sounds good, I agree, it sounds much better when the music is done locally.

I still think this station is having automation problems though. The song flow is odd and the automation seems to mess up a lot. Other than that, they're sounding good doing it like this at night.

music is local and that is good. the bad is that not taking the satellite version allows the station to control the number of commercials. a satellite show only allows you 6 or 7 minutes every hour. magic can play as many commercials and promotional annoucements as they like because they are not limited by the satellite version which means less music.

Very true when we controled The Evening Zoo In The Country with our music I was often told to slip in an extra announancement between each segment.

Hm..... what if they did it to go all-Christmas before J. Tesh has a feed? It's a thought..

They are running a good bit of commercials now. I haven't really listened a lot, but it sounded like more than usual. 10-15mins an hour.

with magic controlling the music it wouldn't matter. the john tesh breaks are self contained. magic would bury you with announcements around his breaks promoting their christmas format.
