Johnny B vs. Rover?

Out of town now, but grew up listening to JB... how's he sound now, and how does it compare to what Rover's doing? I've checked out the latter online and it sounds like that show's got potential. Is the Loop gonna start streaming anytime soon?

WLUP promised on the air that they would be streaming live over the Internet by the end of 2005. It's 2 weeks into 2006 and still no streaming is available. There are some bootleg Johnny B streams out there if you know where to look.

Streaming their radio stations -- another empty promise by Emmis Communications, who care only about profits and never their fans. (Maybe Smulyan should buy the Cubs. Emmis operates just like the Tribune Company anyway...)

I was hoping to hear the Loop online too. I like Brandmeier in the morning but I get bad radio reception at work and would love to play it online. Listening to Brandmeier, It has been the first time in a real long time I have laughed out loud at the radio since AM 1000 was in its prime.

As for Emmis, they seem to be turning things around. I have been comming back to Q101 now that the shuffle has started. When they did the 13 years in 13 days I made sure I had a radio on all week. Before this, I have not listened to Q101 for some time. Now that Brandmeier is back I have been listening to the Loop more often as well.

Johnny is back in full swing. He's been very enjoyable and has been giving me laughs I've been missing in Chicago for a while now. He's still quick witted and keeps the show flowing. As for Rover, I've listened from time to time and so far he's doing nothing for me. I still have yet to find myself laughing out loud, or much at all for that matter. I will agree that he has some potential, but there's still a lot of work to be done. I'm not exactly all too excited about his crew. BUT I'll listen to him over Mancoward anyday! But Johnny is my number one choice for morning entertainent right now. I'm just damn glad hes back. As for the rest of rhe Loop's programming...I'm a bit bothered by the fact that they refer to themselves as "The best in classic and new rock." They barely scrape the surface of newer rock. I'm not saying that they have to play heavy stuff, there's plenty of new rock out their that's melodic and rocks. It seems like to them it's only Nickelback and 3 Doors Down that are the only new rock bands out there. They focus way too much on the classics and some of these classics should just be left to the Drive. Anyway, enough of my blah, blah, blah. Welcome back Johnny!!!
