Johnny Walker/Doug Kabo - Where are they now

Hey all,

i posted this in seperate thread, but figured i might have better luck creating a new topic. Anyone know the whereabouts of Johnny Walker? He started Forefront on QWK back in the early 90s, and then was at The Revolution and the Buzz after that I believe. He was a helluva DJ but had a raging temper.

I remember just working at Telemedia(right after Zimmerman sold) and Johnny Walker would sound smooth as silk on the radio, but if he felt he made the slightest screw up in his delivery, once the mic went off he went into these legendary temper tantrums where he'd actually throw carts/cd's/whatever he could get his hands on down the hall in fits of rage. I think 160 Clearview still has a couple holes in the wall compliments of Johnny Walker.

Anyhow, if anyone's heard from him, knows his email or has seen him on a milk carton, pls drop me a line. Thanks--JR

I am not certain of the date, but Doug Kabo (who used to work at one of our stations in Lewistown) died sometime within the past year or two. I did a quick search of the obits for the Lewistown Sentinel but didn't find anything. But those who knew him at our stations here said he had passed away. I'm sure if you contacted the Sentinel, they may be able to search out his obit for you.

Erik:

Thanks a lot for the info. That's a real bummer, Doug was a very talented guy. I took your advice and contacted the Sentinel. If they have anything, I'll post it on here.

Thanks again, JR

After week of not hearing from the Lewistown Sentinel, I looked googled him and found this snippet:

Douglas E. Kabo
Douglas E. Kabo, 48, of 61 Gingerbread Lane, Lewistown, died at 6 a.m. Saturday, Sept.

That was too bad, he was one of the pioneers of Alternative Radio back in the 90's @ QWK Rock before The Buzz and Revolution came on to the scene.

RIP Johnny Walker aka Doug Edwards
