Johnny Wendell In San Francisco

I was listening to Johnny Wendell's weekend talk show today on KTLK, Clear Channel's L.A. progressive talk station, when he said that he's been spending weekdays working on a San Francisco station, which he didn't name.He said he'd been going back and forth from L.A. to San Francisco, but that it got to be too much, so that he's now doing the S.F. show by "phone," and that he didn't know how much longer he'd be doing that. Anybody know which station in S.F. and what kind of a show he's doing? I think he's a great talent and prefer to listen to him than to almost any of the Air America or Jones talkers on KTLK.

He began filling in at KIFR (Free FM 106.9) after John London got fired back in April:http://tinyurl.com/gphc8What cracked me up was that he thought it would make the show sound more "local" if he threw in as many Bay Area place names as possible, so he'd say things along the lines of "Hey, I want to hear your thoughts if you're in Fremont, Newark, Hayward, San Leandro, Oakland, Emeryville, Berkeley or Richmond," almost as if he was reading it off a map ... then he'd do some Peninsula city names a bit later, then some from Marin County a bit after that.I listened to him the first few days, then moved on. I'm sure he's outstanding in L.A. and is a huge star down there. On Free FM, he was just another voice on what is currently a very lackluster radio station. They could (and should) do better than him.D.J.
