JoJo Kincaid

He may be going into semi-retirement? He's not a young guy, but I'm not sure how old he is. He worked at 13Q in Pittsburgh roughly 35 years ago.

And it may not have been his choice.

I worked with JoJo in 1975, and he was 2 years older than me. Has always been one of my radio heroes. It just struck me as an unusual move. And he sounds as good now as ever. I remember when he came home to Florida, he mentioned something about his mom back in Gainesville. I wonder if that has something to do with it.

At the same time Paula Street (LOVE her! She is phenomenal at her work!) came to middays, Scott Walker moved to JoJo's afternoon slot. I asked Q105 on their Facebook page about what's going to happen to him since I didn't hear any statements, and they told me he was moving to weekends.

On YouTube, there is an aircheck video of JoJo. He left a message, that "(He) hung up his headphones exactly the same day of his 44 years of doing what he has always loved"

As was discussed in a previous thread, I think he also worked at WZOU and WJMN in Boston as well.

Don't think he was ever at WZOU, but he was at WJMN. Before Kiss 108 he was at WVBF, after JMN, he was at Eagle 93.7.

Here's some of his airchecks from various stations:

I want to say he worked at ZOU too.... I remember him from the 1980's and never listened to Kiss 108 in the 80's.

JoJo Kincaid is the last of the loud upbeat personalities. If you know anymore still working please let me know. Tom Kent was really good back in the day.

Rich "Brother" Robin at XHPRS 105.7 The Walrus in San Diego and of course, "Shotgun" Tom Kelly at K-Earth 101 still have that energy-driven personality.

One of the best. Any other stations come to mind that has personalities (currently on the air) with high energy now, and no liner cards.

I know PPM sez "shut up and play the music" There has to be a station(s) that does well.

No wait, we can stop the music for a 10 minute interview (infomercial) from your favorite new artist.

Do you do yoga?
Where do you party?
Is there a riff between you and....
Are you touring with your new album?
What is your favorite on your new album.

You know we are playing your new song every hour. In fact is it okay if we play it now?

Note:remind the listener every 2 minutes to order their copy of the album now. ;D

Alas, I know. It is the new reality.

Note: Tom Kent (still sounds great), Tesh & Delilah are exempt. They can talk all they want.
