JOLLY JOE

Some sad news to report,Jolly Joe,aka Al Traskowski passed away today,Jolly Joe's Bavarian Bandstand has been on the air
for over thirty years, since 2000 hes has called WICK his home every Sunday from 10am to 1p.m
I've had the pleasure of working with him , besides doing the radio show,he also fronted the band Jolly Joe and the Bavarians.
.

Sorry to hear. He was a rather strange guy, but he was a real radio trooper. That's a long time to be on the air. RIP Jolly Joe.

Sad to hear of his passing. I worked with him for many years at WARD and he was a great guy.

I was just thinking of him today. I worked with him at WICK for the first few years. Truly sad news to hear...He had soooh many loyal listeners and friends. May he rest in peace. :(

So Sorry to hear about 'Jolly Joe". List him with all the radio ncie guys. He had a great following and he will be missed.

Sad news indeed. Also worked with him many years ago. Ridiculously loyal callers and the phone was lit up during every song, and he knew every caller by name. Advertisers probably loved him, they got triple the exposure...Joe talked about them before the spot, played the spot, and then talked about them after the spot (All of his "Good Friends" that helped keep his show on the air). Really hope WICK does a memorial show, or at least keeps the show going under the same name. All Jolly Joe ever wanted (but never got) was a key to the station's front door!

Rest in peace, keep looking "Up, Up, Up!"

Nice testimonial online today at TimesLeader.com. In it Bob V at WICK says the program will continue on Sundays and tomorrow a memorial program will air in Al's memory.
