I respectfully disagree. While it's true that most all of us have made comments in anger or maybe in an effort to be funny to those around us at the time, and some of those things maybe make us look back and cringe (and be thankful there were no e-mail servers or social media back then to record it for perpetuity), Gruden's case is different - and if you don't think so, then you obviously haven't read about all the crap he's said and written not just once or a few times, but over a full decade about women, gays, black people... and if "he wrote down what many people think but do not verbalize", then those particular people are the lowest of the low. They certainly wouldn't deserve a leadership position at a major league sports franchise and to be in a position that people look up to and who's supposed to be setting an example and giving guidance for others to follow - and neither does Jon Gruden. He was merely caught using derogatory and offensive language in emails. In essence, he wrote down what many people think but do not verbalize. We are coming to mind control and thought police.......
He got what he deserved and though we can all recall stories of people who were caught up in something that was made into a far bigger issue than it should've been or said the wrong thing at the wrong time and it cost them maybe more than it should've, in this case the punishment befits the crime.
