:cool:Does any one know what Jon Mathews is doing these days, since the water got to hot with Pacifica underwriters and they sent Him down the road, I hear he was doing a inside Prisons show with one of the locals ? and if You ask His long time Manager at KSEV about Jon he says Jon "WHO".
The fall from grace was a long drop.

I mean, what did you expect? People don't forget, First Fone. Especially when you target the most vulnerable of us, our kids and our elderly.

Nope. Jon Mathews is probably best known for being one of the loudest opponents of the light rail being laid in Houston. For us radiogeeks, he is likely best known for being 1/2 of the Moby & Mathews morning show on 97 Rock (present day Mix 96-5), way back when. I believe that he was last heard OTA on KSEV up in Tomball, where he hosted a political talk show for quite a few years, as First Fone stated.

Edit to add: Here's the story on Jon Mathews of Houston infamy.

JoeFM is right -- It's time for us to move on. I've known Jon for a long time, but I haven't seen him in a very long time. I see him as a tragic figure who allowed his urges to overcome his common sense and he's paid a terrible price for it. He lost his career and his reputation.

I knew him as a fine broadcaster and a loyal friend, and though he's a pariah in Houston radio, I believe in second chances because Jesus believed in them. As he told the mob that wanted to stone the woman caught in adultery, "Let him among you who has never sinned cast the first stone." The mob put down their stones and went away.

I live in the hope that a radio owner somewhere will give Jon another chance and allow him back on the air, but not anywhere near Houston. It's time for us to just allow him the privacy I'm sure he wants.
