Jonathan Fritzen/Diamonds

Actually, Brian Simpson has three solo CDs to his credit (and soon to be four), and "It's All Good" is on my list of essentials. But so will Jonathan Fritzen's "Diamonds." I am not sure what all the back and forth is about. If you don't like the music, no one told you to play it, and you certainly don't have to listen to it. Life is about choices and unless you are hell bent on finding something listenable on the FM dial (good luck with that one), there are PLENTY of them these days on the Internet. And if you can't find something that is up to your standards or fits your taste, launch your own station and you won't have to listen to Jonathan Fritzen or any other "sub-par" SJ offering ever again.

Fair reply-I in a way feel sorry for you because you are willing to settle for a lower standard of talent . The bottom line however as unfortunate as it is,is that no matter how much you play this CD the sales are miniscule and whatever is there is not connecting with the audience. Since You are in deep with this CD why don't you take it on yourself and help him sell some CDs?

Don't feel sorry for me, man. I am doing just fine, as are my listeners who tune in for 10-14 hours each day who also "settle for a lower standard of talent." As for taking it on myself to sell CDs, running a station 24/7 and carrying internationally syndicated programs without any infrastructure or staff is quite enough work, thank you very much. Not sure how much free time you have on your hands, but taking it upon myself to "help" Fritzen or any other artist sell CDs is not in the cards, and frankly, it's not my job. I do this purely for the love of the music and the enjoyment my listeners and I derive from it. But most importantly, I spin what I want to spin. Nothing personal, but if the vibe of the music is not consistent with my presentation, it's NOT going to get airplay on my station, plain and simple. The sob stories about decreased CD sales can be saved for someone who did not fall victim to the days of lining the pockets of the labels AND a good number of artists dropping $20 for CDs for one stinking overplayed song. And if artists, labels, and promoters think that sticking with an archaeic terrestrial radio model of promoting "singles" for airplay is going to bolster CD sales, they are all in for a rude awakening.

We still support ya, AC. Keep the good stuff coming! :)

Your statement shows the disconnect-No sales=No artists.I don't believe in the formula either of putting out a single because it will get radio play recommended by a consulting firm, but the fact of the matter is artists need to eat and pay their bills as well. The majority don't make big money and just keep their heads above water. SJ because of a few rtists who broke through commercially gave the illusion that large money could be had by following the formula.we now know where that has gotten everybody. The few still make good money but the majority of artists that I know work because they love what they do. That is where it all started
