Jones Radio Network Smooth Jazz airchecks

Last year I posted several airchecks from the defunct Jones Radio Network's Smooth Jazz format. I have uploaded several additional airchecks, and reconfigured the folders to reflect the various affiliates that carried the network.

Here are the most recently added recordings:

From WFJZ Ft. Wayne, IN (folder link: http://www.4shared.com/dir/vjKHBxA2/WFJZ.html)

21 October 2003-A
21 October 2003-B

From WJSJ Jacksonville, FL (folder link: http://www.4shared.com/dir/G39z1z4C/WJSJ-WSJF.html)

4 March 2004
14 March 2004
22 March 2004
23 March 2004
25 April 2004
28 April 2004
2 May 2004
26 May 2004
14 June 2004

It's also worth noting that the 25 April and 2 May 2004 airchecks include the excellent program "Quiet Music," which was hosted by Nick Francis.

Here is the overall folder link to my JRN airchecks:

Is JRN not doing the Smooth Jazz format anymore? Wow, news to me. I hate to hear that. We had it here in Panama City. I left the station and a few years later they changed to ESPN radio for about 3 months and now are Bob FM. I miss the Smooth Jazz format. Jones did a good job with it.

Stevations, WJSJ was a different station from WFAM. At 91.1, WFAM was a non-commercial.

And Formerradiojunkie, Jones was purchased by Dial Global, and the new owners chose to discontinue the format on 9/30/2008.

A few weeks ago, I found tucked away in a box, a VHS tape that contained six hours of the JRN Smooth Jazz network. It was recorded from KZSP South Padre Island at the turn of the millenium: 25 January 2000 to be exact. The on-air personalities featured Paul Riann, Terry Hickman, and Lynn Hughes.

The audio from KZSP came from an air monitor/receiver that sounded like it wasn't close to the transmitter, which fed a 24 kbps windows media stream. I have encoded these files at 80/44.1, and split the aircheck into six separate files. The link to the folder is here: http://www.4shared.com/dir/Tu98UjbB/KZSP.html

I also uploaded 81 minutes of JRN from WSSJ, which was recorded on 29 October 2006. It can be found here, encoded at 192/44.1: http://www.4shared.com/dir/5SpztoyK/WSSJ.html
