Can anyone explain to me David Jones' longevity in this market? I don't think he does a bad job by any means but there's nothing that stands out over any male co-host in any market this size or even smaller. If I'm not mistaken he goes back to the early seventies and he even got out of radio a couple of times but had no problem getting back in again. Is he really that well known among listeners or is he more familiar to those in the business?

I think he's known well enough to an AC audience although I don't see him as the kind of personality that would cause people to flock to a station just because he made a move there.WSNE's audience was dwindling when he was there with Joan but hiring him at LITE was a good move considering he replaced Gary DeGraide who is of the same era as Jones. The transition was handled well. He's casual and inoffensive and that's what LITE has to have.I'm sure he knows enough decision makers in the market to have that work in his favor but I would bet contacts mean less and less in today's radio environment.
