Jordan Rich - Way Too Many Boring Guests - Not Enough Open Lines!!! IMHO

the syndicated junk
why, to be quite honest; that is what I feel I am listening to anymore with all those guests/pre-records, etc. (Esp. the medium he has on, Gawd) That's paranormal C2C- AM (George Noory/Art Bell) :( if I ever heard it!

those are the kind of guests I was thinking of... those and the self-help type gurus on there to shill some book... then again, the great Norm Nathan used to have on fortune tellers or whatever the proper term for them is

Leave the guy alone. Rich does a great job at interviews. They are stimulating. Problem with open lines sometimes is that some callers pretend to know how to solve the world's problems, remake education, win the war and bring world peace. Talk about droning and boring. These guys sound like citizens band radio. In Rhode Island, we love yah, Jordan.

AMEN ! ! !

Ummm... I thought that was the whole point of an open line broadcast; to talk about politics, current events, or whatever the topic of the day is.

For me personally, I don't listen to that stuff. If it is a heavy political topic night, I will tune 'BZ out & go for something else. I much prefer the lighter topics, & if you listen closely to the show, you will hear caller after caller mention the same. Sure, everyone has their own preferences for radio content/topics.

At any rate, I am glad that the folks on here are open to discussion, & allowing others to have their own opinions without bashing them. It makes the forums run so smoothly when each poster is free to reply with their own views & thoughts on a subject. Very nice bunch of guys (& gals) on here. :)

Well, wonder of wonders... Has anyone noticed that for the past couple of weeks Jordan has increased the "open lines" time? Maybe it does pay off to post on here ;D

I for one, Like It!!! I really enjoy hearing the callers with their personal stories, etc. If any of you folks on here call in to the show, I say "Thank You" for taking the time to do so. Jordan did mention that the phone volume was heavy tonight, I'm not surprised; As per the topic of this thread, most folks want to talk to Jordan, not listen to guest after guest after guest... Now don't get mad - I didn't say not have any guests! Just even it out a little...

BTW, I called in this morning, after 2:00; Guess who !?!? :D

Cheers to Jordan!!!

Jordan Rich is one of the most decent people on and off of radio. His production judgments of his program are always informative. Jordan provides a clear respite from the usual rant radio of the likes of Michael Graham Crackers. Todd " I am not a Jew " Feinburg, and Jay [ don't call me John ] Severin [ don't call me Severino] who would like to pass himself off as the next David Brudnoy but is thousands of brain cells short of that goal.

No, Jordan Rich is one of Boston radio's greatest assets.

Well, I knew it was too good to last... :(

After a few blessed, very refreshing weeks of liberal "open line" time, he has receded back into the depths of guest after guest after guest... nothing like "canned" talk show format...that's original...

Again, don't get me wrong; there are a few interesting guest segments here & there on the show; but come on Jordan! 5 hours worth of show & you take 20 min. worth of live calls?

I want to "original" Jordan back, that I started listening to several years ago. :)

Change is not always good.

...I think I will email him this thread...maybe he will take heart...One can never give up hope. :)

Don't know what your personal problem is with Jordan Rich. He has been filling in for the ailing Paul Sullivan for weeks doing issue oriented and political talk radio from 8 - Midnight week nights. So, if he does lighter programming on the weekend I think it is appropriate.

Time for you to put you personal problems on this issue aside and move on.

You would prefer Weiner radio on the other station? You Savage...

Well, the thing I don't understand is your personal issue with this. Have you listened to Jordan from the beginning? That is the main thrust of this thread. Back to the way he "used" to do the show, not the mess it has morphed into now...

Change is not always good...& this is one example where it holds true. IF you listed to the show when he does finally make it into open lines, you will hear caller after caller say the same thing that I am here..."I can't ever get thru, since you have all those guests on"

I like Jordan a lot, I really do, it is just that his current format ...STINKS!!!
