Jorge Sedano Leaving Fox Overnights

This is great news for Jorge but it's bad news for the rest of us who enjoy THE THIRD SHIFT ON FOX. Who will succeed Jorge? Ben Maller? Evan Cohen? The Thompson Brothers?

I kinda felt something like this coming, Jorge is too good of host to be on in that time. I think they should give it to Ben Maller he is the best host without a regular slot and I don't know if they would change up the "crew" or not probably not. I actually used to hate Sedano but have grown to like the guy after listening to him for a few years. I wouldn't mind seeing FSR do some overhaul. I hope Maller gets that slot he is good.

I think/hope Ben would be the guy. He has developed a pretty strong following with his weekend shows. PLUS, I think it would make the show better to have a host in LA as opposed to someone from another market. Seems like it would make the flow smoother.

I also think Ben is a logical choice, but remember Sedano is 3000 miles away. If he never mentioned that I don't think anyone would know the difference.

I agree SportsDotCom... I wasn't trying to infer that Sedanos show sounded like it was piped in from another market. I just imagine it has to be difficult with one guy in one city... and an entire crew in another studio in another market. Just an observation not a knock.

So ... how quickly does FSR move?

You would think pretty quickly. I heard Jorge say that he will stay as long as he is needed as they search for a new host. I mean football season is almost here it would be logical to have someone in place by then.

He also said something about a heath issue or something anyone have more on this whole Sedano move? I hope its Maller, the guy is overdue for a regular spot. Who else would be possible for canidates? I don't know about you but I have never been big on the "crew" now with Marcel now Jorge gone they should just start something different. IMO

I wish they would put Czaban on a better time, I wish they were in the Out of Bounds (That Craig Shemon guy annoys me) slot or back in the evenings.

I probably still will stay with FSR as my first listening choice but they just like ESPN seem to be going down hill.

I remeber Sedano missing almost a month w/ some sort of health issue that led to a surgery. He never got into specifics, but he did mention it earlier in the year.

I agree with you about, "The Crew," to an extent. I think that Sedano brought that dynamic & created a morning zoo at night and it was unique with him. The chemistry he has with his co-workers is amazing. I too felt with Marcel gone it would take a hit, but recently Bergman has come out of his shell & been pretty good. Josh & Karen are a dynamic that work well with Jorge as well, but without him leading the show I don't know if it would work either. You're not going to re-create that show with a new host. Although, Maller does interact well with them. I think that whoever the new guy is should be allowed to put his own stamp on the thing.

In case any of you missed it, Sedano filled in Sunday night for Evan Cohen.

I do agree with Ben Maller having the overnight shift, though my work schedule doesn't allow me the luxury of staying up to hear him.

Sedano and Cohen do a Sunday night show together... some sort of NFL react show...

My bad... Sedanos regular show is actually from 5-8pm pacific time...he's on with Ray Buchanan and still doing a weekend show. Evan is on with Landry right after that...
