From RAMP email today. Congrats!

• Josh Venable is on his way from Dallas to Tulsa as the new PD/afternoon personality at Stephens Media Group Alternative KMYZ (Z104.5 The Edge). He replaces Paul Kriegler, who left last month after a seven-year run, shortly after Stephens bought the station from Shamrock Communications. Already fully acclimatized to the Central time zone and ready to rock, Venable (pictured) famously spent some 20 years at Clear Channel Alternative KDGE (102.1 The Edge)/Dallas over two tours of duty, his most recent stint ending last December. Sandwiched in between (like a delicious Oreo filling), Venable spent several years as MD/afternoon personality at Clear Channel Alternative KYSR (98-7fm)/Los Angeles. RAMP caught up with Venable, who was literally on the road between his old and new homes, giving him some time to speak about his new situation. "The Edge is such a heritage station that has established a very large footprint in the region," he says. "The station just put up some phenomenal ratings, which is just fantastic. I'm also looking forward to working for a smaller, leaner company like Stephens Media and I'm proud and extremely happy to be taking over such a great brand as The Edge." While he's in transit, Venable can be easily accessed at [email protected].
