Josh Venable let go today from KDGE FM

I''m so sorry to hear you guys were let go, especially this close to Christmas. I'm praying for you guys that a good gig comes through as the previous door closed. I keep hoping that better days are coming but so far it's hasn't materialized I guess. The sooner the corporate taskmasters go head and purge properties, the better. Local or semi-local decent people need to revitalize our industry in the worst way....
 
I agree. He was one of the few guys who truly LOVED his gig, and you could tell just by listening. I don't know how to explain it, but there are some people who just go through the motions, and others who seem to sound more genuine when they broadcast. Like I said, I can't really explain it, but Josh sounded like one of the "genuine" ones. I hope he lands on his feet somewhere soon.
 
noticed since Josh has been let go by KDGE has been playing MGMT ("kids" and "time to pretend") and another rap rock song that has not been played in rotation before now.

found the name of the rap song thrift shop by Maclewmore. That needs to go ASAP not alternative rock and definately belongs on KISS. :mad:
 
Seems the edge ditched the 4 o'clock flash back and now is playing an hour of flash back songs at noon starting today with the new guy Daniel that is taking over Josh's time slot.

They've added The Clash to their regular playlist, maybe they will add these too.
 
the clash playing on the edge is only a part of the new block at 12pm similar to old school edge.

Oh and it seems the 3 o'clock threesome is gone too! ???

whoever made the decision to get rid of the 3 o'clock threesome and 4 o'clock flashback needs to be led to the door because those were some of the staples at the edge. Watch because people are going to be angry that those are gone because people actually participated in the 3 o'clock threesome. Oh and Now 102.9 back when they were mix about 3-4 years ago had a throwback hour and it failed because they did the 12pm thing and most people are at work and don't listen to the radio at that hour.
 
Having had the experience relatively recently, I certainly feel for Josh and everyone who has had to go through this. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
