Journal & Shamrock

I know we have heard this before, but I am hearing it again.

Does anybody know if Journal is about to buy out the Tulsa Shamrock stations?

Would make sense to me. It would be a good third major cluster in the Tulsa market.

Journal would have: KVOO, KXBL, KFAQ, KMYZ & KTSO

Not bad.

These rumors have been floating around for years. What makes you think it's going to happen this time, StonesRock?

TIMES-SHAMROCK Radio Division COO and SCRANTON-WILKES-BARRE cluster GM JIM LOFTUS heads to INFINITY Oldies WOGL/PHILADELPHIA as GM. Before SCRANTON, LOFTUS spent 12 years in the PHILADELPHIA market at WUSL (POWER 99) as DOS, and at WOGL's predecessor WCAU-F.

Umm...Jumping ship before it sells?

Is that the baby Scamrock that owns stuff in Tulsa or another company? There was two Shamrocks at one time if my memory serves me right.<P ID="signature">______________

The Shamrock in this post is speaking of the Tulsa Shamrock stations.
I think there is a Shamrock Company that is operated by Roy Disney, but I don't think THIS Shamrock is in the broadcasting business. Maybe someone knows for sure.

Roy Disney's Shamrock Holdings was in the broadcasting business until 1996...they owned a couple of stations in Kansas City as well as other markets. It's not the same as the Scranton, PA-based Times Shamrock that owns KYMZ and KSTO.
