Journalist May Have Suffered A Stroke On-Air

She insists today she did not suffer a stroke and is feeling fine. She blames nerves, despite working in market #2.

Something sure happened, because that was one hell of an on-air crash-and-burn! Did you note the horrified look that crossed her face in the middle of it? Pure terror.

She sure looked like someone who needs a CAT scan, stat!

Take a moment and give this young lady your prayers and best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.

Video is no longer available at this site - CBS copyright.

ABC has a clip at http://abcnews.go.com/Health/cbs-re...troke-live-grammy-broadcast/story?id=12914429

You have to sit through a 30-second commercial to see the 33-second clip. Beautiful.

They say it was a false alarm and that she was never taken to the hospital, but what I saw appeared to be more than just nerves. I hope she's ok.

There are stumbles and fumbles, and nobody is immune to those, but this was just out of the ordinary bizzarre. Obviously, something went terribly wrong here, and I hope she gets diagnosed properly. I come from a family of stroke victims, and this just doesn't look like a slip-up. Best wishes to the reporter.

I don't want to accuse anyone of trying to "cover up" anything, but this TV station, in my opinion, is going out of its way to make it appear that this reporter just made an on-air flub. From what I've seen of the video she wasn't scared, or it wasn't just a bad night for her; something was terribly wrong.

She should definitely have an MRI or brain scan, just in case. But I've watched the video, and I think it's possible that she was just tired and had a sudden attack of nerves. She was live on TV, after all. I'll confess that on a couple of occasions (in front of a small group of people), I've tripped over my tongue almost that badly due to sudden nerves.

It kind of snowballs. First, you make some verbal blunder, then get so self-conscious that you get instantaneously super self-conscious - then it gets worse and the next words that stumble out are even more garbled.

A similar example is that clip of Arizona Governor Jan Brewer's screw-up during a political debate last year. First, she lost her train of thought, then got self-conscious and totally froze up on camera and in front of a live audience watching the debate. I am in no way a fan of Governor Brewer, but I actually felt sorry for her on that one occasion.

I was watching KCBS news at 5pm PST on Sunday and she seemed fine during that telecast. The Grammy's were just starting, and she was outside the Staples Center since the awards didn't air until 8pm on the West Coast, recapping the red carpet entries. I guess anything is possible in the course of 6 hours, though.

Turns out this was a severe migraine attack that can mimic the symptoms of a stroke. She's going to need a lot of ongoing monitoring to control it--I know a lot of people who suffer from migraines of various types and it's no joke...

Very courageous of this reporter to discuss this further. I think because of her, we all learned something. However, I still think she should have gone straight to the ER after the episode, just to be safe.
