Journey To Nowhere

So the much hyped "journey" for KT'R-FM turns out to be one year of coverage of the 2008 Presidential Election. Once again the Master Blogger defies all wisdom and logic by placing so much emphasis on a race that has zero local interest. Aunt Carlos live from Iowa....zzzzzzzzzzzz. The smart money for newstalk is still on illegal immigratin. Advantage KFWhyEye.

I tuned into the morning snooze and heard Ann Karlo's phoned-in bit from Iowa. He sounded just like Mitt Romney!!! If his radio show continues to tank in Phoenix, he has a future as a sound-a-like for Mitt.

Btw- In honor of his political journey to Ottumwa, I think we should rename his show "The Radar O'Reilly Report." ;D

Finally, in honor of KTAR's journey to nowhere, I dedicate the following to the Master Blogger and his merry minions:

Well we know where we're going
But we don't know where we've been
And we know what we're knowing
But we can't say what we've seen
And we're not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out

We're on a road to nowhere, come on inside
Taking that ride to nowhere, we'll take that ride
Feeling okay this morning, and you know
We're on a road to paradise, here we go, here we go

We're on a ride to nowhere, come on inside
Taking that ride to nowhere, we'll take that ride
Maybe you wonder where you are, I don't care
Here is where time is on our side, take you there
Take you there

We're on a road to nowhere, ha, ha
We're on a road to nowhere, ha, ha
We're on a road to nowhere, ha, ha, whoo

Russ, your massive hype is really annoying, and it's only been most of
one day so far.

And what's even more annoying is the direction your news product
took this morning. After dial-hopping between Snooze/Talk 92/3,
KOOL 94.5, the lunatic on 55/FYI and Lumberyard 1440 (not on yet),
I tuned back to KT'R-FM to catch the 6:30 hard news block.

Hard news block. Yeah, right. ::)

Except for one short item buried at the end (just before Deputy Dan
at 6:39), it was all 2008 election hype! Where was the real news?

Good thing we didn't have floods, fires or illegal aliens invading the
nuke plant with pipe bombs, 'cause you wouldn't have heard about
it this morning on KT'R! But they found plenty of time to tell us all
about the 2008 election from twelve different angles and sidebars
(including Aunt Carlos).

There's other times during the morning news wheel you could have
run your hype. Dump the fluff--movie reviews and similar--but don't
gut your TOH and BOH hard news windows.

Did my ears deceive moi? Could swear I heard Aunt Carlos promoted many months ago as doing a show that wasn't about politics. Where's truth in advertising? I can get my fill of politics from Rush and Hannity, thank you. Don't need the local guys to play Rush Jr.

You obviously don't get it. According to you the 2008 election has nothing to do with illegal immigration.

Man crush continues...

I heard some of his show. Some is interesting but most of it is not.

No, all politics is local. Thus, illegal immigration IS important. At least in Arizona.
