…to "Communications and Educational Development Initiatives". A/K/A "Kingdom Radio Network.com" it appears they have plans to resurrect the station (ahem). Their Educational Statement of Purpose mentions Abba. I think they meant Allah, but if they wanna intersperse preaching with Dancing Queen, more power to 'em.

Anyone up that way know if the station's back on the air?

CEDI claims ownership of WHLE-LP in the Atlanta market. I'm only bringing this up because the licensee name in the FCC db is "Fellowship of Holy Hip Hop, Inc." and I just wanted to say "Holy Hip Hop" as many times as possible. ;D

I haven't heard the station on the air since October or November. I heard them broadcasting for a couple weeks, then they've been silent ever since.

I believe Joy Christian donated WKDG a while back. I'm not really sure if the station is on the air, though. Their stream mentions both WKDG and WHLE at the top of the hour ID, but whether those stations are actually on the air...who knows? I'm in south Shelby county, and I tried to listen to WKDG a few minutes ago, but there's nothing on that frequency. I don't know if the signal will make it that far south down here (it seems as though it would). I'll have to check when I'm up closer to Bham in the next day or two. I know WKDG was back on the air about a year ago when it was still owned by Joy Christian Communications, as I heard it in my car one morning.

The group that owns WKDG and WHLE appear to be Christian. From their website:


Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him (Acts 28:31)


"Relgious" groups which refer to Jesus Christ as "Lord" do not recognize Alla/Allah. The "Abba" you saw is not a misspelling. "Abba" is an affectionate term for God the Father; in Aramaic, it means "Daddy" or "Dear Father". The name "Abba" is mentioned in scripture just a handful of times, most notably when Jesus called out to "Abba" shortly before he went to the cross. Nothing against Abba the music group...I'm a pretty big fan of Abba...Dancing Queen and all. ;)
