Panama City Joy is coming

As RTN continues to grow the Joy FM on the Florida panhandle is coming to Panama City. The are buying 95.9fm. WIth signals like this many car radios will be able to have non stop joy from Fort Myers to almost Santa Rosa Beach FLA. I guess Pensacola is next

Silent STA as of 1/27/25. Interestingly, they are still streaming online: http://ice41.securenetsystems.net/WRBA

"Radio Training Network, Inc. (RTN) respectfully requests Special Temporary Authority (STA) for WRBA (FM), Springfield, FL (Facility ID No. 63584) to remain silent until construction can be completed at the station. RTN acquired WRBA on January 17, 2025, at which time the station went silent. Prior to the consummation of this sale, the station had been operating under an Engineering STA (LMS No. 0000251886) at low power from a temporary location with equipment not included in the purchase. The FCC had authorized changes in WRBA’s tower site and antenna, among other things, pursuant to a Construction Permit (CP) granted on July 31, 2024 (LMS No. 0000249090). RTN has a new site lease at the CP site and will be placing orders for new transmitting equipment in the next several days. RTN plans to complete the construction of the CP as quickly as possible so that WRBA can return to operation at full power no later than 180 days."

Here are two that are up for sale in the Panama City area. For more details visit: Two AM's With Translators Panama City Fl. When I saw the info, on the Radio/TV Deal Maker weekly E-Mail letter, I knew which ones it was. It sounds like to me that Faith Radio Tallahassee wants to exit stage left. So you see @Tibbs4, someone is making this their perfect time to sale along that highway.

Dang, looks like the former Waitt Radio stations are now all religious? Seems like the market is crowded with the format. I really enjoyed the Smooth Jazz format on WASJ back in the day.

Honesly a smart move for the powers behind the scene on selling these stations to "non-competitors" and making some good money on the transfers
and business-wise, cutting our potential future competitors.

Not sure the listeners will love the radio dial like they did, but then again, who scans the dial anymore to catch the number of changes. Poledo -
or someone - give us a rundown of how many non-comms are on the dial there. Wonder how that many of those can get enough donations in to
long term justify.

No mention on the website. Only see talk of the Montgomery signal changing frequencies not mentioned on the website or social media. Did 95.9 come back as Joy on Friday?

Just filed today....

STA For Reduced Power Operation Request

On January 27, 2025 WRBA(FM) was granted an STA to be silent while the Construction Permit (File # 0000249090) for WRBA to return to full power operation was being constructed. Radio Training network, Inc has completed the installation of the new antenna, transmission line, transmitter, and program delivery equipment as of May 24, 2025. The transmitter site is co-located with WPGX DT and they required us to install a separate electric power service to the building. We are waiting for completion of the new electrical service to power the new transmitter. Radio Training Network, Inc would like to return to broadcast operation with reducer power from the new site and antenna system with 1500 Watts ERP until the new electric service upgrade is completed.

95.9 is on the air.....I was scanning the dial last night coming back from Tallahassee and discovered they were on the air.....that makes 10.....yes, 10.....(8 full power and 2 translators) FM religious stations licensed to Bay County cities.......half of them on former commercial frequencies

Not much competition left for ya, CCENG. Still wild. RoRo was pretty smart doing the non-comm sell magic. I saw that RTN are trying to sell off the two translators. This does make me wonder how ll these full-power signals devoted to religion can all survive. Might be the first market that some jump ship. Probably a hello of a long shot on that.

On the surface all the signals in Panama City with Christian formats now looks like saturation but it seems the only organizations that have money. 88.1 95.9 and 107.9 are Christian Ac full time basically. 91.3 is mostly Christian Ac with several hours of preaching teaching. 103.5 is in Spanish . 105.1 is a small preaching network based in neighboring tally. 91.7 is mostly traditional preaching and music. Joy is trying to blanket Florida and now pretty much non stop in a car to vero beach to the southeast. Plus north towards Montgomery through Dothan from pc. K-LOVE trying to blanket the country. Flr and way just trying to he in a fair amount of markets nationwide.
Since none of these stations are local the costs to operate are spread across a lot of other signals so we will see if every ministry on pc radio can receive the support they need to keep the signal on the air.

definitely on Air. I am an FM DXer out of Panama City, 95.9 was one of my go to open frequencies to pick up long distance stations. And now that is over. are they still using the WRBA callsign?
