wow, I just came across an old cassette I made of WJRZ, dont know the exact date but it was to the tune of the Addams Family theme. It went like this "we started at the shore on July 4" and the jocks would say their names to the tune, Jay Lori, Lance DeBock, Jay Sorentino and others, I think the station was oldies but real oldies not whats on today. They sounded top notch and big market at the time. What ever happened to those jocks....If anyone wants a copy of the tape just ask....

If you could digitize it and post it that'd be very cool
Or drop me a PM and I'll give you an address and digitize it if you'd like

That Addams Family thing may have been THE reason I left the station. IF my memory
serves me correctly, I was EXCLUDED from the 'family' if you will. I protested..and I was
gone-ski. Strange times..bad oldies.

Jay Laurie was at the root of many conflicts during the short time he was at WOND in the 70's.
The last time I saw him he was at WRDR while Jim Rodio owned it. He lost about 200 pounds
and had a better attitude. He died sometime in the late 90's.

Holy Karma..
I don't think I remember hearing he had joined Lurch, Uncle Fester,
Morticia, Hester Frump (Moticia's mother), Grandma-ma, and Thing, (Lurch's HAND
in the original series, in Sitcom Heaven.
I had such pleasant run-in's with the other Jay.
Wonder why I didn't get the memo of his passing?
Thanks Tom for the info. Hope you're doing well.

Wow!, I just registered for this site and saw this! I would love to have a copy of that Adams family thing. I forgot all about it. If it is available as an mp3 could you email it to me? [email protected]. I also have a WJRZ aircheck from the beginning to the mid 90's which is going to the NJ radio Museum. If anyone is intrested in it I can email it to you or post it on my ftp site for download. It's missing some people like Spaceman Scott, (now owner of groovycandies.com)Slam Duncan (he only worked two weeks) Charlie Magil, Charlie Maxx and others but its fun to listen to.

Thanks....Lance DeBock
