Judy Torres- Faithfully...Can it cross over like DHT and Cascada?

Curious to get you guys opinion on Judy Torres "Faithfully". Much like DHT, and DJ Sammy before it, it's a dance remake of a standard 80's hit. With the recent successes of DHT and Cascada, do you think this track has the potential to cross over from dance (where it is enjoying success) and into the CHR realm?

Thoughts? John Parker?

I hope not

It probably can, but I'd rather it didn't.
Honestly, I'd rather that this and many of the other 80's covers not exist.
Some may work if they were originally dance/funk/disco songs, but most of these covers do nothing for me.
I would much rather have an original song break through than some lame cover.
I don't really care for the Cascada track myself, but I think it's good that an original track was able to break through (even if the chorus may have been ripped off from someone else).

Ripped off?

While I certainly respect your opinion on Judy, I think that using the words "ripped off" in regards to Cascada is irresponsible.

You cannot simply use someones lyrics without their permission. Rest assured, we have the writers permission.

We do have the belief that it has a chance to walk the same road. Now we have to convince everyone else. :)

Re: Ripped off?

We probably won't agree on this, but even if it's done legally and with permission, I still see it as being ripped off.
I'm sure Puff Daddy had permission to rip off all the songs he sampled in the mid to late 90s, but that doesn't mean he wasn't a rip-off artist.

Re: Ripped off?

I think your right. We have different concepts of "Ripping Off" someone.

Personally, I'm having a hard time warming up to this one. I guess it's because I heard the original so many times over the years as I was growing up, and it's really difficult for me to hear it as a dance tune.

Now in regards to what else Robbins is currently promoting, I'm in love with the new Jenny Bliss track, "See You Again". :) Fabulous song. Scent's "Up & Down" has been steadily growing on me since the holidays as well (it helps that Sirius' The Beat plays it heavily when I'm tuned in). I think the Scent song is catchy enough that if it got some exposure at CHR, it could crossover and do well.

I agree with Scent.
I've been a fan of that track since Positiva released it in Summer 2004.

I have to say I like the song and I loved seeing her live at the Energy AZ concert in December.

I think this might be a harder sell than other Robbins product since it has a darker feel to it.Although,I gotta admit the song grew on me and Judy sounds the best she has since her freestyle days.
