Juke Box Cantina

I used to able to get Juke Box Cantina out of the Globe station, which seems to be dark lately. Either that or their stick needs work. Does anyone know of any Phoenix stations that carry Juke Box Cantina ?

KRXS (now KRDE) moved from 97.3 to 94.1 in order to accomodate 97.5 moving from Flagstaff to Dewey-Humboldt. Have you tried 94.1?

The show went off the air for lack of sponsors. The show also played on Andy Olson's RadioFreePhoenix.com. Not sure it's on the web anymore, either, since on-air production of the show apparently ceased, but after checking Andy's website, it looks like it is still webcast Sundays Noon to 3 on RFP. I notice there's a playlist of each show listed hour-by-hour, so in case you want to know the name of "that song" and missed the announcement...

Didn't always like everything I heard on that show, but you could hear some music that cut new ground every week. Stu and Bruce did good work.

> We would love to get Stu and Bruce back, if only their "loyal" fans would just support the show. For nearly 5 years the Cantina had little or no sponsorship. The station or Stu paid the freight. It was a work of love for Stu and Bruce and deserved the minimal sponsorship to cover their costs. Airtime for spots was only $3 in and outside the show (Double Shots). Even at that no steady supporters could be found. The door is open -- if you really like their patter and alt country give Stu a call. Rich P.

Re: Radio Free Phoenix/Juke Box Cantina

The only station in the market exclusively carrying Juke Box Cantina now, is Radio Free Phoenix. Juke Box Cantina has made the transition from Globe to "The World" on RFP. From what the guys have said, Radio Free Phoenix pulls in a large amount of listeners tuning in from Germany and the UK for the show, as well as it's huge following in the local rock community. RadioFreePhoenix.com and Andy Olson have always been supporters of Stu and Bruce's work. It you look at the specialty shows on the RFP website,(check out Zappa Universe and Crap From The Past !) you'll see Juke Box Cantina listed Sunday's at noon. Without a station like Radio Free Phoenix, a worthwhile show like this would cease to exist. Muchas Gracias, Andy.

> The "huge local rock" listenership did not, or could not support Stu for 5 long years. The internet is ideal for a small diverse format -- we wish them well. Rich P.
