you must check out the WRKO website. Those two idiots think they are big stars. The felon will regret he decided to work with them.
Why would you not put the felon up there alone. Ego,ego, ego. They really do think people care about them.

Well he won't be alone on the air--I think he'll have a co-host, either a permanent one or rotating
co-hosts. As for the presser, they were up there to introduce him and take questions but in all honesty, J&J should have
said briefly when the new show would start and after a few minutes gotten up and walked over to the
side to let him have the spotlight; they could always go back in and respond to a question if a question
were to be directed to them

I did just that, and maybe it's just me (maybe it isn't), but I couldn't listen to more than 4 or 5 minutes of his press conference. Maybe even less, but I know that scroll bar wasn't more than a third of the way through and I had to cut it off.

First run test of how well he can hold an audience (well, ok, just my opinion) didn't go so well. Hey, I tried. ::)

Did any of you get the email from Mr Wolfe? If not, here goes:

(BTW, love the lack of explanation for replacing Scotto, who was doing a good job in my opinion)

THOMAS FINNERAN TO JOIN WRKO

BOSTON, MA (January 11, 2007) – Boston's Talk Station, WRKO AM 680
today announced that former Massachusetts House Speaker Thomas Finneran
will join the station as its new morning drive-time host.

“I am happy to announce that Tom Finneran is joining WRKO,” said
Entercom Boston Vice President of AM Programming & Operations Jason
Wolfe. “Tom is an incredibly engaging personality who can speak
intelligently and credibly on any and all local issues.”

Finneran is scheduled to sign on in February, replacing “The Scott
Allen Miller Show” in the morning drive-time slot. The four hour
show, which will be on from 6 a.m. – 10 a.m., will focus on a variety of
topics including politics, sports, lifestyle issues, and current
events. Finneran's show will feature regular guest co-hosts from the worlds
of local media and politics.

Finneran, who for years has served as a substitute host on several area
talk shows, is looking forward to the opportunity of headlining a
program on his own.

“When WRKO approached me with this idea more than six months ago, I
was immediately intrigued with the possibility,” said Finneran, 56.
“It's going to be an interesting, informative, entertaining, and
thought-provoking program and I can't wait to get started.”

“Tom Finneran has his finger on the pulse of this region,” said
Entercom New England Vice President & Market Manager Julie Kahn. “We are
confident that he will have a significant impact on WRKO.”

I think that her words will ring true. Looking at it from a skewed point of view though, having a "significant impact" on WRKO could mean a positive or a negative impact. Also, you could poke fun of the "finger on the pulse" suggesting that it's so he can tell when he's flatlining! ;)
