July 1st cant get here quick enough because morning radio in Atlanta is driving me crazy. Finally we will have good radio again with Steve and Vikki back on the air.

Morning Mess is painful ... Bert Show is fun but not Steve and Vikki.. However it's nice to here the Regualr Guys back on the air again... now all we need back on kicks is Moby and Rhubarb on 1067

I like Steve and Vikki but I also like the Bert show.

If the Bert Show would talk a little less and play more music in the morning, they would be perfect! I'm not saying they should not talk at all but to simply cut it back a bit.

Never heard of them, I seriously hope you're making up that name. What is with these morning show names, Morning Mess, Morning Merry Go Round, The Giant Show, the Irregular guys, Randy and Spiff. Spiff? What is that, that's not a name it's a sound and it's just as horrible as their show was. Steve and Vicki, at least they just use their names, but that could be the only thing I like about them.

The Morning Merry Go Round was WSB AM's name for their morning show back in the 1970s (and maybe before that), back in the Elmo Ellis (http://www.grhof.com/ELMO ELLIS.htm , if you have to ask) days, back when WSB AM played music and was a full-service station. The MMGR had absolutely nothing to do with all of the "morning crew"-type shows that came in in the late 70s on FM.

I see another Smooth Jazz station in major market bit the dust. Baltimore has dropped Smooth Jazz for Alternative.

Steve and Leslie would stand a much better chance talking to people their own age if they ever get back into it.

Listening to them on 99X was like driving to church sunday mornings having to listen to casey casem with my parents. That's why 99x failed to attract anyone under 30 like they were supposed to. It was like having to listen to your parents station, and they had no clue how to really talk to someone under 30.

It's not about how good the voice sounds or how much you know about music, it's about relating to your audience. Not talking about going to the spa, or your agent, or how much money you and your DJ friends make in radio.

If Cumulus figured that out and staffed the on-air ENTIRELY with DJ's in their 20's or even 30's...lol, 99X might have thrived again.
