July 12 2007

:) well, as we all know WCBSFM came back to us. Happy Anniversary Guys and it took 3 years to realize a mistake. We all make them, sad that many people were fired, but I do believe they were coming back, Our Legends left and we were all upset, but 2 Legends (not old) but been there a long time was Dan Taylor and Bob Shannon :) I am so glad they came back. They came back and they never gave up and now today we are #1. I had 2 dreams and both came true, 1 was to come back and the other to be #1. :) Thanks to Brian Thomas to work hard, everyone else too to bring this back and make it Awesome!! I know its listened alot, as every store and DR's office I go in I hear WCBSFM :) We got a Great staff of DJs now and I see they are working Hard to KEEP WCBSFM the TOP of the LIST!!! I do Believe things Happen for a Reason!!! Please, if you left cause of no Doowop (alot are upset) TRY it, Changes Happen for the Best. Doowop I still like, I will not lie, I go all summer to see many groups I met thru WCBSFM and they still sound GREAT!!! Ck the concerts of NJ, LI and Bklyn, they do have some DOOWOP to see this summer. Thanks to ALL for your LOVE and SUPPORT and Thanks to ALL over there too. Lets Go another 3 years and on and on!!!

That was a great day in New York City radio, along with February 11, 2008, April 10, 2003, and December 26, 2003. We need more innovative, exciting radio like the stations that launched on the dates I mentioned.

Mayor Bloomberg officially proclaimed that July 12 is WCBS-FM Returns To New York Day.

What about October 31, 2009 when PartyFM was announced to simulcast on 87.7?  :

:) YES the Mayor was very upset!!! July 12-2007 came ALIVE again!!! Listen to Bob Shannon now, soon he will talk about it. :) wcbsfm.com

Ok, I am sure I will get EATEN ALIVE, but since this is a free country, I'll say my piece. Has the New York board essentially become a CBS-FM Facebook fan page? Yes, if there are other topics post them, I get it...but let's keep things in perspective, CBS-FM is a great station, but not the second coming of radio, sorry. Next there'll be a thread stating the power the transmitter burns is superior to everything else!!

Anyone got an aircheck of when CBS-FM signed back on? I'll never forget the tape player "unjamming" and playing the end of Frank Sinatra's "Summer Wind," which was the last song played on the first incarnation of CBS-FM before it was blown up and "Jack"-ed up.

But, Nick, July 12 was also a great day in Chicago radio back in 1979... Steve Dahl's Disco Demolition Night! ;D

I'm not quite sure what all the euphoria is about over a format change in market number 141, but I suppose the dance fanatics need something to celebrate about. :D

Somebody via email has just informed me that Wild is "all duh rage if ya get whut imma sayin", so I do understand now what all the euphoria is about! ;D

MarcR, if you do not like dance music, keep your opinion to yourself and don't hijack a thread that isn't about dance music. We all know you hate dance music.

To get back to the original topic, CBS-FM's return was done at the right time since its format is very PPM friendly.

I would be spoiled if Wild was in market #51 ;D
