July 2012 ratings.

The July ratings came out on time this month, and oh my!!! let's dig in. 97.1 The Ticket got to a 7.0 share with most of their crew on vacation. Doug FM made a nice push. 'JLB dropped a bit from a 4.8 to a 3.7, and it looks like that race with 107.5 is back on. But how about AMP being the first CHR to take out 96.3. AMP in July(5.1) 96.3(4.8) 95.5 did get to a 4.0 share. the Greater Media rockers are taking a bit of a tumble, and how about Kiss FM? from top 10 in the winter to a 3.9 right now, and Mix has blown past them. Also, the catfight as one of you guys said last month between 105.1 and Fresh continues, 105.1 has one edge (3.1 to 3.0), but Fresh is still the more listened to station. So let's talk. what did you see in July's book? reactions? those are good too. Keep on trucking.

So much for that WWJ simulcast, huh? I'm really surprised in the leap Amp has made, nearly doubling it's AQH over the past 3-4 books. As much as I like the changes 89x has made, it seems the station's push to sound more like other Alt-rockers has really hurt it's cume and share. Think they'll drive back to the heavier sound?

Wait a second...AMP....has...a 5 share?! WTF!!!! I cannot believe my eyes when I saw that.....you wanna talk about a turnaround? THERE'S THE TURNAROUND EVERYONE DID NOT SEE COMING! It's funny how, a year ago, everybody was bashing AMP and how horrible it was ratings-wise (myself included), but NOW....with a 5.1 share.....I gotta give it to AMP. They've done everything they needed to do to gain ratings and it's paying in dividends. Big props to them...

AMP Radio must be doing something right. I mean a 5 share?!? That just doesn't seem right. I wonder if it will continue or if it's just a fluke.

@Jasonthegreat. I thought it was a fluke when they went from 2.8 to 3.5. They have gone from 3.5 to 4.3 to 5.1. I am starting to think it's no longer a fluke. As for 89X, I am shocked at how they have fallen in the last two books. I haven't noticed too much of a change at 89X, but something has. Quick question, and anyone is free to answer it. What is happening to the Greater Media rockers? Summertime deal or something else? (for the record, I do not think 106.7 is the reason).

The PD worked at a chr in Indianapolis. So he probably decided to make it sound like his station he programed in Indy.

It's called replacing the garbage morning show (Puddin' and Shay Shay) with something decent (Buck & Coop). Reducing the clutter between songs and making the station more accessible to the teenage audience likely contributed to the surge in 6+ as well.

Dom Theodore didn't do a very good job of programming 98.7. The proof is in the results.

@MarkW. That has become obvious. They still sound funny, have turned over every shift, and still too many songs that need to go away, but the results are right there.

Of course they turned over (Dom's) staff. Why wouldn't they? The prior formula was working incredibly poorly.
