Country Aircheck reports that this jump by KMLE to #2 in the 6+ numbers is the highest share for the station since winter 2001. That's over 20 years! Plus the station is #2 in 25-54, #3 in 18-49, and #4 in 18-34. It's a big day in Camel Country! Burritos for everyone.

KUUUUUPD has sounded stale for quite some time, and it's beginning to show in their ratings unfortunately.

Very impressive numbers for some of the rimshooters.

KESZ. To quote Mel Brooks..."it's good to be the King". Count da Money, indeed!

KYOT is now ahead of KOOL-FM. It’s pretty obvious KOOL-FM loses a lot of the older end (maybe 50+, definitely 55+) to KOAI which explains how KOAI is ahead of them 6+.

Subtract the 55+ and looking at 18-49 and 25-54, KOOL-FM is still struggling. KOAI has taken listeners they don’t really “need” away, but it doesn’t seem listeners at the younger end of 35-54 are leaving KYOT or KESZ.

KYOT also seems to have an older leaning playlist for adult hits, it’s even older leaning than 94.5 so they’re probably being pressed on the upper end of 35-54 by them as well. Audacy stripped the personality (not referring to DJ’s) that KOOL-FM had and the result is this. Very boring radio.

And this with KYOT also suffering quite a decline of its own over the past several months...

I'm aware there's a lot of sample issues this year, but Phoenix seems to be very unstable and affected the most by these issues.

I had an early dentist appointment. KESZ with Beth and Friends was playing throughout the office. KEZ offers a nice middle of the road (free) radio station you can play in a public office/business throughout the day without making staff and customers upset. I am sure public listening help with ratings.

Not a lot, because listeners who have meters don't go to the same dentist or doctor every day and every week. That kind of short, one-time listening actually reduces the AQH share, persons and ratings.

I see Beth on the Fox Morning show frequently and she and her cohorts look like a lot of radio fun. OTOH I don't like their musical choices so I don't listen to KEZ. They're OK if you just want some background noise.

Thanks for the education Sir

And now, Lance is reporting a new domain registration to suggest a change at the station. I won't give it away, but it will be interesting to see if this will work for 94.5.

Audacity is going to totally f#&$ this up! Once, again, the problem is NOT THE NAME of the station. It's what people are hearing coming out their speakers, that they are not liking. Fix the music, and programming...The end is near for KOOL

I take that the music/presentation will change, but the question is if it is for the better.

The end of the month is near. This change will probably happen by the weekend. Time to record the end of half a century of a legendary station. Will this turn the ship around? I'm secretly hoping it's an abysmal failure

They did a rebrand with WOGL in Philadelphia a few months ago. It was strictly a rebrand, not call letter or format change.

As part of the rebrand they also hired a few new personalities. The change helped them lower their demographics.

If it's going to sound like another AC or Hot AC, but more gold based, they're doomed to fail. And they wonder why Audacy is struggling at this time....

They have three stations in the national Top 10 for billings. None of them are music stations: WINS, WCBS, WFAN.
Given their track record against iHeart as of late, they aren't in good shape. And then, there's their debt load.
