July 28: This Day in TV History

Just a few random TV related events that happened on July 28 (not a whole lot). Discuss or comment as you please……

1946: Actress Linda Kelsey (Lou Grant) is born in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

1948: Actress Sally Struthers (All in the Family) is born in Portland, Oregon.

1948: Actress Georgia Engel (The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Coach, Everybody Loves Raymond) is born in Washington, D.C.

1951: Cartoonist Jim Davis (Garfield) is born in Fairmount, Indiana. His cartoon alter ego (Jon Arbuckle, Garfield’s owner) shares the same birthday.

1964: Actress Lori Loughlin (The Edge of Night, Full House) is born in Queens, New York.

1974: Actress Elizabeth Berkley (Saved by the Bell) is born in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

1986: A Current Affair begins a decade-long syndicated run of gossip and muckraking.

(Just a little featurette I hope to do as time permits…..don’t expect it every single day. It’s an entirely random selection based on a quick Net search, and is not meant to be comprehensive. So, don’t post nasty messages about “you forgot THIS” or “how could you not mention THAT?” Do so, and I’ll just take my keyboard and go home…..) ;)

Another July 28 birthday:

1954: Actor Bruce Abbott born in Portland, OR. His TV appearances have included the series "Dark Justice," and guest appearances on "Murder, She Wrote," "Family Law," and "Diagnosis: Murder."
