july book

Looks like PPM confirms what most broadcasters always believed: summer is great for CHR. KISS in LA jumps way up and a similar pattern all over the country. In Seattle KISS jumped from a 4.7 to second place at a 5.2. KUBE jumped from a 3.6 to a 4.0. Meanwhile softer stations like Smooth Jazz and WARM dropped back. Smooth Jazz in Seattle remains a factor like no where else in the country. I think they have done a good job mixing in AC songs and being very local. KPLZ remains number one, especially 25-54, driven mostly by their long-time morning show, extending their lead over second place JACK by a couple share points. The quiet little surprise this summer is that KMPS has overtaken the WOLF for the first time in recent memory. KMPS got a 4.4 and the WOLF dropped to a 4.3.

I don't think it matters to KRWM. It's a station that can go on cruise control the rest of the year until November. Then lays waste to everybody with double digit ratings until January, like last year.

If advertising is truly built around those numbers, I'm sure somebody else saw them.

And they want a slice of KRWM's pumpkin pie too.....

Stay tuned......

Just got a glimse of 25-54 in mornings. STAR was way out in front, followed by JACK and KUOW. KISW was not in the top ten in mornings. KUOW is, by the way, far and away the leader in the news and talk arena and I agree WARM will rocket back in November through winter.
