Naturally no specific breakdowns and I'm not even looking at AQH. Trends & consistency are more important anyway.
B101: Up to a good 8.7 and a little ahead of HJY now. Blame the listeners, not the station.
Cat Country: Down to a 7.8 but they'll be back up again.
LITE: Trending downward. I wonder if it's time for another change like when they Lite became Lite Rock. What change though? They're probably playing what they should & avoid anything their listeners might consider obnoxious. I honestly think B101 is their main competitor so any changes in the music might have to take that into consideration.
Coast: Doing better lately. I hate the format so I'm no judge but blame the listeners for this one too.
Fun 107 beating Hot in Providence? Let's see how this plays out over the next few months.
And yes, I also realize no matter how poorly a station may be doing, someone will say they're doing just fine cuz that's just the kind of market this is.
 
If live and local is what "good" radio should be, then why is B101 doing so well in the ratings?
 
Obviously format comes into play. You can also look at your response to the WSAR thread. When radio becomes less important to people, their station choices reflect it.
 
Some of it with the summer and vacations, some of the captive listeners have changed their pattern because being out of the office so the meter isn't capturing them being at their desk with the typical station on.
