I guess I find it hard to believe that just because one is bald, they know nothing about combing hair. Why? A couple of dudes at the wife's hair salon are cue balls on top and make a fortune combing others hair. But I digress.

I didn't say I know nothing about it, I said I don't spend time thinking about it. Of course everyone dreams, including me, and given a competitive signal, a workable budget and an opportunity to implement a plan, yes I know what I would do with an am signal in Columbus. The chances of me getting that chance? Minimal but not impossible. That small slither of hope that exists makes it inadvisable for me to get on a public message board and share the details of the dream. I learned that lesson many years ago when I interviewed for and was offered the job as PD at 1230 when Nationwide owned the station. While we couldn't come to terms on the job, many of the things I gave them in my "what I would do" packet were implemented. I was a young man and I made two mistakes: I showed my hand and I didn't take that job. We live and learn.

Nice to know you were among my competitors for that job. Amazingly, so were many of my ideas. It's a little uncomfortable presenting a non-disclosure/privileged information document in an interview. Of course since neither of us got the job, it didn't matter. And I've learned to get over it.

However, since the 1230 signal is not really a competitive signal anymore, what would be proposed would have to attract enough audience to attract enough advertisers to pay the bills. Get a little too successful with a pea shooter, and one of the big guys comes in and scarfs up your bread and butter. Ya gotta know how to find and fill a void the big guys don't notice or need, super serve it and skim the $$$ associated with that niche. And of course I'm jaded enough to know that super serve often means facade. But as long as the customer(s) believe(s) they are being super served, then they are being super served.

What about a Spanish music format?
