Out of market poster here… is WWPW signal bad? I know that WWLW got the worse deal but IHM swapped frequencies of them & WRDG there doesn’t seem to be much boon to either.

A .4 is astoundingly awful even for a rimshot that looks capable of hitting a lot of the market.
I live east of Atlanta and travel mostly in Gwinnett County daily. I find the analog signal is pretty steady up to Cumming, Buford, and Loganville. HD only locks in a very few high spots. The HD is only steady until you get inside I-285 going south on I-85. Going south on I-285 towards the airport, the HD doesn’t get steady until you get past I-675. As far as the analog signal goes outward, I have been surprised that the HD struggles to lock in where the analog appears to be strong and steady. It is like the HD is more attenuated on 105.3 versus other HD radio stations.

That’s certainly true but so far, WWPW’s loss has not been WWWQ’s gain.
I find it quite interesting that Power's stick, near Newnan is now SO far SW of Atlanta proper, that folks in much of the northeastern side of the Columbus market not only have their own heritage CHR, Q107.3 but Power 105.3 puts at least a grade B (if not a full grade A) signal into much that market as well. WCGQ is still one of Columbus' highest rated stations... Even with Elvis Duran in the mornings there.... Oh the irony! :ROFLMAO:

And there's poor Star 94, way down yonder at the bottom of the full-market-signal pile. As usual.

Is 94.1 headed for another format adjustment? If so, what would they do? The only glaring hole I see in Atlanta is News/Talk, but WSB made quick work of taking down 106.7 a few years back, so that is unlikely.

I have wondered how a simulcast of WINS/New York would fare in Atlanta.

I don't think there are enough folks down here that know enough (or care) about New York to listen to WINS.

IIRC WSB has CBS news. They use clips and clear the commercials which for the CBS national advertisers is a good deal at least for Atlanta. All news startups haven't done well this century.

The only way it could possibly work is access to the AJC newsroom. Technically the AJC isn't a part of Cox/Apollo but I bet there are still folks at both organizations that have contacts with multiple people at the other place.

If I were planning such an operation, I would plan on at least 5 years before breaking even. I doubt the Bankruptcy Trustee would go for it.

One wild card would be the AJC LMA ing 94.1 if the old radio and TV stations would not count in market Cap count. Of course the chances of this happening are about me like picking the 6 numbers in the next Powerball.

Star 94 has fairly good (top 5) young women numbers.
