Holy Moley!!!! KREV 92.3, The Revolution, ties KITS, Live 105, with a 1.6!!!!! OMG!!!!

Live 105 playing worst and worst and worst music everyday. Formerly (back in 2000) I listen 2-3 hours per day and now 0 hour. same song overplayed. Because Live 105 playing bad music, I rather listen to classic rock KFOX.

Yes, there's a reason why Live is languishing at a 1.6. This is just sub-par programming. Has been for years. Surprising that CBS allows it to go on.

Is it really worse than Wild and Now? From down here it's hard for me to tell.

From my perspective, yes. Lots of AGC pumping and it seems like the high end is always clipped. It's definitely harder to listen to than Wild & Now. Or perhaps the source material might be AAC files. It sorta sounds like that too.

You admit that you listened to them a lot back 11 years ago. Have you considered that you're aging out of the demographics KITS is aiming for?

I mean, heck, I can't stand to listen to KMEL or KYLD, but they're not interested in me, either. I'm too old and too white.

What I know of the playout system (from a year and a half ago, admittedly), it only plays WAV files. They might be decoded from AAC or MP3 sources for all I know.

Composite clipping might be in use. Don't have a scope to check it with at this time.

FWIW, I am the demographic they are aiming for and I concur they sound atrocious.

Got up by Oakland Coliseum today. 92.7 does sound a fair bit more squished and clipped than its format competitors. Sorta like 70s/80s loudness war days.
