Read carefully: I wrote it was "a dark day", not "my darkest day".I legitimately hope that this is the worst thing that ever happens to you in your lifetime.
I also think, MusicMan, that the best music is from the 60s and 70s.

CapCities didn't run ABC Radio into the ground the way Citadel almost did. Just my $0.02-worth.
Good ole Cap Cities. They made money because they never wasted a nickel. The guy who started the company, Tom Murphy, had only the 2 sides of a radio station building that faced the road painted. Why waste paint? Had a couple neglected small stations, grew it a bit and merged with ABC then Disney.Capital Cities Broadcasting operated WPRO-AM/FM in Providence, where I grew up, and ran those stations, among others they owned, rather well. I agree! All that mattered to Disney was their "Radio Disney". To hell with ABC Radio, a classy operation that was affiliate-oriented.No but Disney did. The minute Disney bought ABC they sought to sell radio.
That's not all that mattered to them. They were *determined* to make go.com happen, too.I agree! All that mattered to Disney was their "Radio Disney". To hell with ABC Radio, a classy operation that was affiliate-oriented.

ABC News still goesIt doesn't do this anymore, but for many years after that flop, web browsers still went to espn.go.com after you typed in espn.com.
WEEI is on a death spiral. Even with the Red Sox having the best 2 months in the MLB—their numbers other than AM Drive have gone from pathetic to near asterisk territory. This is one of the most stunning declines in a category we havee ever witnessed in local radio history . WEEI was a category killer. It OWNED this format. It’s now an afterthought.

'80s and '90s for me. That's the 1780s and 1790s, when Mozart and Beethoven started their careers. Let's see who's still playing "Louie Louie" or "Bad Bad Leroy Brown" in 300 years.Read carefully: I wrote it was "a dark day", not "my darkest day".
