June PPM ratings - WBZ-FM dropped like a rock

Bruins eliminated from playoffs at WBZ-FM took a nosedive in the 6+, WEEI held steady.

I have a hunch moving Dale back to fulltime is starting to work for WEEI.

Summer book should be interesting for WEEI if the Red Sox go into fire sale mode and the season becomes even worse than 2012. With listeners to both stations basically twiddling their thumbs while waiting for the Patriots season to start, I wonder if listenership to both stations could take a hit until there is something positive to air play-by-play of and talk about.

Sox lack of success a snoozer for sports talk radio

http://bostonherald.com/inside_trac...14/07/red_sox_a_snoozer_for_sports_talk_radio

>>WEEI — which is choking on the $17 million it pays per year for the rights to air the Sox games — picked up nothing in the early part of the season, when the team should still have had some leftover World Series goodwill. The nighttime ratings, when most of the games are broadcast, were also down across the board.
“That’s the dirty little secret,” said one radio insider. “The Red Sox broadcasts, for all the money and hoo-ha, don’t contribute anything to ratings.”

It also says Sports Hub still #1 in target demo AMD/PMD, but loses ground every month; also D&C up for contract renewal and it's said they're doing a bit better in ratings which should help their cause

As for the "let's blow up WAAF and put RKO--or even EEI--there" folks:
>>The surprising good news for Entercom came via WAAF, where Greg Hill’s morning show was No. 1 in the demo for the month of June.

Boston Militia A Boost For WUFC-AM?

It turns out that the Boston Militia women's football (American style) team is Boston's ONLY winning team that also has a chance at a championship! Its games are broadcast on WUFC-AM 1510 and the next game will air Saturday July 19th. I wonder if the TV stations will send out reporters showing fans gathered around their radios for the results!
