JUNE PPM RATINGS

CHR Battle:
This month, KIIS FM stays on top but loses some audience share going from 5.3 to 5.0
AMP Radio stays consistent for the first time in the with the CHR format with no change in audience share but a small lost in listeners in the 6+ PPM cume for the first time since its launch.

Other notable marks:
KSWD passes into the 1 million mark in the 6+ cume and jumps up from 1.2 to 1.3
KOST FM stream jumps from a 0.5 to 0.9
Regional Mexican stations KSCA and KBUE make a small bounce back from the addition of KDLD as Regional Mexican. KSCA makes a small bounce back from 2.7 to 2.9 and KBUE goes from 2.5 to 2.7

KXOS makes no progress with a lower audience share from 1.1 to 1.0. Lower powered stations KDLD and even KSSE are doing better than KXOS.

Any thoughts about this months PPM?

It's not too surprising.....

For the 6/09 publicly released 6+ overall PPM data for the period Thu. 5/28/09-Wed. 6/24/09, see the radio-info.com Los Angeles PPM Ratings Grid.

Some additions/corrections to the grid:

KOST-FM Stream 0.9 94,600 Adult Contemporary Clear Channel
XEWW-AM 0.2 103,500 Spanish Language Talk GLR Southern California

On the grid, "combine" the lines for KLSX-FM & KAMP-FM (97.1's call letter change to KAMP-FM did not occur until 6/30/09, after this report was completed).

The next survey period will be for July 2009: Thu. 6/24/09-Wed. 7/22/09 with the publicly released 6+ overall PPM data to be released on Wed. 8/12/09.

Guaranteed that next month will look much different. There were several suspicious risers and drops among music stations. Not likely to repeat.

What ones do you find unusual?

July will be a little strange due to the effect of a Holiday weekend (Week 2 July) which always shows strange, abnormal listening patterns.

What impact, if any, do you think The Sound's one day tribute (July 10th) to KMET will have on their numbers for July?
