June PPM

Gainers of note: (6+)

KSNE 5.4-6.6 Bucks the national trend of AC going down this time of year. One of the nations top ACs.

KMXB 4.8-5.1-5.9-6.2 since March. What an uptrend.

KFRH 4.1-5.5 Someone has to have an opinion on this. What is NOW FM doing to get these spectacular ratings, especially considering the competitive landscape.

KOMP 3.3-3.7-4.4-5.3 since March. Another major uptrend.

KVEG 3.2-4.0 Nice comeback.

Stations trending down

KWID 7.3-5.6-5.3-4.4 since March. KISF and KQRT were also below their six month range. Are the Spanish language stations getting cheated? Are there less meters going out to Hispanics? Or are they going to English dominant Hispanics which might help explain the rise of stations like KFRH, KVEG, and KOAS.

KXNT 3.3-2.6 June seems to be a poor month for many talk stations across the country. But still most do better than this..especially with an AM-FM simulcast. Will the new PD make any major changes?

KWWN 2.8-1.9 Not an especially interesting time of the year for sports. This format needs football (and no lockout)

I'm going to say YES to all of the questions, except for the cheating one on Spanish. There are less meters for Spanish language stations, but I am sure that Arbitron will correct it soon. All Spanish is down, but I have seen it happen before. Take a peek at Salt Lake City, and then look at June (the comeback). I am sure it will come back to balance.

There are more and more English preferred Hispanics. Have you see Piolin's numbers in a number of markets lately?
