Then please explain to me why kiss isn't number one 18-34???
Because their programming is substandard, and the listeners are realizing that.
Exactly!!! Just because one targets a given market doesn't mean one hits the bullseye. According to those 18-34 year old females I speak to on a regular basis, the
song selection on Kiss doesn't float their boats.
In almost 50 years of talking to other radio listeners about to music format radio, I've never heard anyone ever say "I don't like their music, but I listen to them because I like their DJ." The only exception is morning shows that are more comedy and schtick than music. I have heard people say "I like so-and-so the DJ, but he plays crappy music so I don't listen to him."
One isolated example for you. I always liked Jimmie Roach. I thought he was extremely entertaining. For a long time he was one of my favorite DJ's, from before he teamed up with Steve Hansen in the mornings. But when he switched to playing country songs on a country station, I stopped listening to him.

Pike beat Adam
Buckhead Beat Adam
Andy beat Adam
and YES Bonics beat Adam
I have it all right here in black and white.
To be more accurate, I think its more an issue of:
The station Pike was on beat Adam's station
The station Buckhead was on beat Adam's station
The station Andy was on beat Adam's station
and YES, the station Bonics was on beat Adam's station.
And I say that totally objectively because I've never heard Adam Bomb or any of the other people you've named. But the next time I hear of any DJ "beating" another DJ who had a better station behind him will be the first.
