Just A Plain AM/FM Radio?

Does anyone know of a manufacturer or seller of a plain vanilla AM/FM tabletop radio? I'm trying to find one for a Christmas gift for an elderly lady. She's a sweetheart but doesn't have a clue about high-tech stuff.

I've searched through the Radio Shack and Circuit City and Sears online sites with no luck. Every one of them has features she will probably never use. She already has an alarm clock and a CD player. The station she'll be mostly listening to, the local BBN affiliate, is about 3 miles from her residence.

Can someone point me in the right direction here? Does such a radio even exist anymore?

For an elderly lady, look for the "Crosley" style old fasion radio clones. I bought one not too long ago at a walgreens store on closeout for $10. The thing looks pretty good, and the receiver was better than expected. You can find them on ebay, and elsewhere on the web. I also bought a Crosley "Sleigh" radio at a swap meet from a vendor.. neat looking stuff.

look here: http://www.crosleyradio.com/prods/radios.html

or here for purchases at a good price:

Go to the Target website (target.com). searrch for "table radio". About 2/3 the way down is something called the "Emerson simplicity table radio" for under $40. In mono or stereo. Don't know how it sounds but the picture looks simple enough. Maybe your local Target has it and you can play with it.
