Just a reminder: Christmas music isn't music

I know this has been beaten to death, but I cannot stand hearing all this horrible music! It's not even music! I only like SOME songs from each artist. The odds of me liking CHRISTMAS songs from even the slightest percentage of these artists are lower than the ratings I wish upon them!

Who is soothed by Springsteen's "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" or "Grandma Got Run over by a Reindeer"? These are TERRIBLE!

I never thought I'd be prayng for a Kelly Clarkson song.

C'mon bro. Nothing is THAT bad. You could be totin' 50 pounds of body armor and taking incoming fire.

Christmas (Xmas, Holiday, Seasonal) music? 35-64 year old women get it; 18-54 (hetero) guys don't. This is why WJYE and Star go up in the last trend of the Fall book. Well, maybe not this year due to the Jack-Fack-tor and maybe WHTT sounding more like a gold-based AC (Tina Turner, Huey Lewis, Phil Collins, Don Henley???!!!)

97 Rock is playing some very good Christmas (Xmas, Holiday, Seasonal) music from the Kinks, ELP and others. Q-107 has some cool can-con stuff on the air.

The problem many people, especually men, have is hearing the lame stuff. I don't so much mind Andy Williams' "Happy Holidays" and McCartney's "Wonderful Christmas Time" a few days before Christmas (Kwanza, Festivus, Chanukah). Key phrase: a few days. e.g., December 22nd-25th, not four freakin' weeks before Christmas (Kwanza, Festivus, Chanukah.)

If you really want to hear some great, truly great music around Christmas time, I suggest WNED-FM, 94.5. Timeless.

This topic has kinda run its course here. I'm out.

Amen. If his hatred of seasonal music is his biggest problem, he's the luckiest guy on earth.

Turn off the radio, bro.

Hey, don't knock the Boss! You'd actually prefer Kelly Clarkson over Bruce Springsteen? Help is available!

Hatred? Biggest problem?

I don't HATE holiday music---which is just my point. I always used to look forward to it. Now, the way it's shoved down our throats so far before the holidays, with little alternative (thank you JACK & Satellite) it is more than annoying.

Not a big problem, but for over a month, I basically lose 2 stations I always listen to. S-A-T-E-L-L-I-T-E!

Re: You Could Be In Fallujah

There is tons of excellent music from this genre. Many stations won't delve into the jazzy stuff. Or the nostalgia. Or the remix. Sounds weird, but that combination--cleverly mixed--does work. For adults -- with heavy emphasis on women.<P ID="signature">______________

Two words and one callsign:

WWKB At Night.

Invest in a good AM-STEREO C-QUAM radio and dig in. Christmas free AND practically commercial free. I can't get enough. Seriously, if I want to hear Xmas music, I have tons of it both on HDD and on CD.

After all, how many times can you hear a great tune like "Santa Baby" before you never ever ever EVER want to hear it again?

You people in the Buffalo market have it SO good. I WISH I could hear KB dayside, but guess what... (Not happening.) Go ahead. Keep spinning your FM dial-- pretty soon, you won't even have that.
