Just a simple question

>>>Who has the best morning show to drive to work with and why?<<<

I honestly think that The Bert Show is one of the best morning shows in Atlanta. They have great chemistry for starters. And the just "keep it real". They are very open (or as open as they can be) with certain issues. Also they are VERY FUNNY!! You don't know how many times I have been on campus, walking, listening to the Bert Show and just bust out laughing b/c of something Crash, Bert, Jenn, or Melissa has said. I have always liked their morning show. They always talk about current topics (which all morning shows do) and they aren't afraid to share their opinions.

I don't really have a worst am drive show. I mean just because I don't like a morning show doesn't mean that it's the worst. For example I don't care to listen to Steve and Vicki but that doesn't mean they are the worst. But then again :)
Just kidding!!

Hey! AJ JAM found the CAPS LOCK KEY!! lol!

I know I may be in the minority, but really enjoy Toucher, Leslie, & Jimmy. I won't say they are "the best" though...to each his own, really.

The worst? Can't say that either, although I'm you in thinking that Steve & Vicky aren't really my cup of tea....again, to each his own. <P ID="signature">______________

I've yet to find a morning show anywhere that's better than the Bert Show. I'm not too crazy about syndicated morning shows, but I would listen to the Bert Show if they could syndicate.

The Regular Guys.

SiMan, Baby in the morning. For not only being live, local, and involved with the community, but for some of the mixshows and crazy features of the show. Plus, there's more music.

The Bert Show. Besides the fact they're on Some of the Hits: Puke 100, some of the features on that show I can watch the Jerry Springer show and get the same kind of entertainment.

I have listened to almost every fm and am morning show in
Atlanta.. and here are my OPINIONS..

The Regular Guys are funny, but their bits can be on the
'rednecky' side. I most enjoy the news jog because it is
smart, witty and requires no caller interaction. The have a
early and late new jog. From around 6 to 7:15 and sometime
around 9 until the show ends at 9:50. From 7:15 to say 9 - is
hit or miss.

Steve and Vicky - very corny. God bless them for being on
the air for as long as they have - but Steve McCoy was stale
back in the early 90s.. and he has had 12+ years to age since
then. I have heard he makes over a million dollars a year..
I just don't like the kitsch. I liken it to a cheesy "Good
Morning Atlanta" type morning show, but on radio instead of tv.

Bert Show - good, but skewing towards the younger set. High
school, college..just out of college. Plus, top 40 is so repetitve
anyway. After a while, I just got tired of listening to girls
call up complaining about their boyfriends.

Dave FM Barnes and Firfer - not too bad. The music is good, but
I dont hear chemistry between Barnes and Firfer. Barnes also can
be a bit too "Im so cool.. sit down and let me tell you a story of
how cool I am". Did I mention the music?

99X- Toucher, Leslie and Jimmy - Not bad either. Music is good
as well. Leslie is great when it comes to music, which is why I
was bummed when they dropped her "90's at 9". Toucher, while funny
is a little too political for me. Jimmy is Jimmy. One thing that
sours me about this show is the cast of characters. Crash is a
40-yr old college frat boy. Fat kid and Wally are just silly and
unneccesary.

WSB-AM - Scott Slade is a consumate professional and a good listen
on the way to work. Yes, it is mostly news, weather and traffic, but
it is informative and the ride will go by quickly. Boortz (from 8:30
to 1) is not my cup of tea. My only beef with WSB - advertisements.
Lots of commercials.

WGST 640AM - Tom Hughes - good listen but very old school. Plus, if
you take an hour or two and listen to GST and WSB - it sounds like
Tom Hughes has a high school newspaper staff around him as opposed to
a more professional sounding staff around WSBs Scott Slade. WGST used
to have the best traffic guy in the business - Keith Calland, but he
passed a couple of years ago due to some form of cancer (I think).

680 The Fan - waste of time. Rude and Dukes cannot stay on subject for
more than 3 minutes before wondering off to another subject.

790 The ZOne - not too bad, especially if you like sports. They do
get a little sophmoric - but so do the Regular Guys. What I do not like
about 790 is - everything is sponsored with them. When Steak Shapiro
belches - it is sponsored by "Avalanche Entertainment" or the "Cigar
Merchant". And they mention the name of the station 98 times an hour.

95.5 The Beat, Viva, The Buzz, V103, Hot 97.5, B98.5, Lite FM and all
the country stations - I cannot comment on, because I have not given
them enough of my time.

Dark horse - if you have XM Satellite Radio - ch 142 is Fox Sports Radio
and in the morning, they feature the Steve Czaban Show. It is fantastic.
Yes, it is sports related, but also more of "guy talk" with alot of pop
culture thrown in. It never gets stale, and when you listen to the show,
it sounds like you are listening to 2 pals (him and sidekick Scott Linn)
instead of two people that are on the radio. 6-9am.

What I used to do when I had to drive to work (thankfully I work from
home now) is listen to Scott Slade on WSB until 8:30 or so, then listen
to the Regular Guys until 10.

Hope this helps - and didn't bore you to tears!

Kitster

That was one of the best reviews written on morning radio. And I agree with a lot of your opinions. Thank you for that.
