Just a stupid Question......

With New Yorks CBS-FM back on the air playing oldies would nt you think someone around here would follow suit.I am not saying B101 should go back to oldies but a 99.7,790,920,990 etc. There is still money to be made with this format. Even if you had to add some early 80's in the mix. 80's that would fit 50's sixties and 70's
70's music leaning towards disco and soft artists like Gordan Lightfoot.
80's more of John Mellencamp,Bruce Springsteen sound mixed in on a light rotation.

You mean like WBLQ playing Jackie Wilson into Journey? Ouch! I'm afraid to even touch the radio when driving in Connecticut now. Seriously though, the theory is that the audience may be there for 50s & the kind of 60s music no one is touching anymore, but that audience's buying habits are set in stone & sponsors won't get enough bang for their buck. You would need to see some major success stories with this for the lemmings to follow suit.

Just like your classic rock/country format. Aesthetically it would sound good if done right but whose audience would a station like this be after? HJY's? Is any station going to try to educate HJY's audience when it comes to country music even if it's Toby Keith or Big & Rich? CTK's audience? There would be too many country hits that wouldn't fit this format. By the way, I know you like Big & Rich. Their next release is probably going to be You Shook Me All Night Long. What? What?

that would make way to much sence for a providence outlet to do that.... heck it might cost them money.... god forbid it may have to require an air staff
