Just a thought..WWBB to become WPJB

Just a call letter change and thats it.At last check WPJB was available. The (W)e (W)ant (B)aby (B)oomers is wearing out.
WPJB before they went off the air if I remember correctly at my young age was playing Madonna's Borderline and Micheal Jackson's Thriller.

B101 being classic hit's but mostly rock is on the crisp.I mean a hair from adding Madonnas Borderline and Beat It.They already play Cyndi Laupers "Time after Time" and "Girl's just wanna have fun".

Thought's, think before you type and it would only be a change in calls. They can still call themselves B101 with those calls.

Hey Ken,

It's CUSP, not CRISP ;D. They could also become JB101 with those calls....

They could also go back to their old jingle package, updated for Kenny's change:

"JB-101 has biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig hits!!!"

followed by the resurrection of their "suggestive" t-shirts.

From (W)e (W)ant (B)aby (B)oomers to W (P)rovidence (J)ournal (B)ulletin.

Who's reading printed newspapers these days? Baby boomers.

I don't think that the Classic Hits/Classic Rock format will survive long on B-101. Clear Channel's prize Providence property is WHJY. As we know, they syndicate programming from 'HJY to other Clear Channel stations. From what I hear, depending on certain future circumstances, more programming might one day originate from WHJY. While 'HJY has always had success with their AOR format, the closer that B-101 creeps to Classic Rock, the more overlap with 'HJY. Yes, the stations have different target demos. But nonetheless, despite decent numbers, the B, I think, will fizzle out long before 'HJY or Coast change formats.

Scott..before the embargo....the B numbers had been doig well and I suspect they still are. I would equate the Clear Channel success in Prov to B and HJY vs HJY and Coast...Coast would change long before B
