Nope, no slogan, no liners at all. Just continuous music at this point.

What's the point of broadcasting in HD2 if nobody has an HD Radio?

Let me introduce you to a concept called Chicken or the Egg...

In order to have people begin to buy HD receivers you need programming. Why would someone want to buy a receiver if there isnt any programming? Hense, you put on the stations before the receivers get here.

FYI, I just bought a BRAND NEW HD receiver off of ebay for $70.

Sweet, I didn't know they were for sale. Yeah, I understand that about having programing, but nobody knows about it. I told a few friends of mind last week, and they were like..."wow that's cool, I have never even heard of it."

Maybe the stations should start advertising it, or HD Radio needs to start getting ads out there. How are they going to compete with Sat if nobody knows?

Radio had a lot to take care of technically to get the signals out there. So it is really no surprise that no one knows about it yet. With the HD Radio Alliance and quite a few stations being up now, this next year will be a big push for the HD signals.

HD Radios are easy to buy. I just purchased a multicast radio this morning and it will be delivered just after Christmas. They are pricey right now, but they can be had. When the big shipment arrives expect the prices to start to drop. Especially if Radiosophy radios hit the market at $245.

You can buy an HD1 receiver for less than a multicast (HD2 HD3). Search Crutchfield under HD Radio and you will find the Kenwood KTC-HR100MC ($399), which is a lot like an XM or Sirius receiver that plugs into a Kenwood head unit that is HD Ready. There are other HD1 receivers out there like Panasonic (which I have) or a Sanyo (which I just bought a new one off of EBay for $70) (!!!).

All of the major car stereo players haev HD Radios systems. I bought my multicast off of Cardomain.com.

There is a $20 rebate now through Ibiqity as well.

There are no fewer than THREE Kenwood HD Radio tuners (that work with a head unit) and a number of Panasonic recivers on EBay at this time.

Careful!! the KTC-HR100MC is the multicast (HD2/3) and KTC-HR100 is HD1 ONLY.

Similarly, is the sound quality that much better? I could see it making a difference for classical, but for any other content I don't see anyone caring. Especially considering the majority of people don't know the difference between CD and MP3...

If it takes them as long to launch a site for the dance subchannel as it did for the regular B96.com website, we might be lucky enough to see one surface by 2010.
