Just heard

What can Renda expect? I hope nothing..I hope it's just a buy out & they leave it alone..it works as we have seen in the ratings. I heard Lynn Waggoner is out, but I'm sure if he is, he will claim "retirement" instead of "let go" with that giant ego, he's gotta be close to 65 anyway. Hope they also keep their current OM & PD's because from what I have seen/heard about Kevin Christopher he is not the best at programming. I haven't ever heard anything good about Ty Tyler, from anyone, so let's hope he stays out of it as well.

I'm having a hard time believing this. Tyler's picking up Magic 104, KRXO, KOMA, and KOKC. Let's hope Tyler doesn't mess with the PD's. Let's hope they maybe tinker with KOKC and leave the rest alone. Where does this leave Rob Adair? He is a VP and COO for Renda Broadcasting and was Tony's go-to guy. I wonder if he's part of the deal with Tyler or if he's staying on with Renda someplace else. Honestly, I think he belongs out of radio and maybe he can just just help his son with his church. Rob's not the nicest of guys when you get past the drippy phony smile and syrup. But I'm really concerned about Steve, Kent, and some others. Bombshell news.

3) Who is Stanton Taylor and what will he do with 97.3 and 890? According to this, he has a connection to Ty Tyler, through Monroe-Stephens Broadcasting: http://www.corporationwiki.com/Oklahoma/Oklahoma-City/stanton-nelson/38662642.aspx

Stanton Taylor apparently lives in western Pennsylvania (hence WPA Radio) and, as you've found out, previously worked with Ty Tyler. Your guess is as good as mine as to what he'll do.

If you remember Monroe-Stephens Broadcasting, they're the ones who owned KRPT in Anadarko as well as several stations in the Duncan area. They upgraded KRPT 850 by moving it into Dallas about 10 years ago and turned around and sold it. The rest of the group got sold to Perry Broadcasting, which is why KVSP took KRPT-FM's place at 103.5.

The question now is will Tyler continue to operate out of two buildings?

Somehow I doubt they will long-term. To answer the person that was asking WHY Tony is getting out of OKC, I think it comes down to his age vs. finacial stress. It's no secret that he grossly overpaid for KOMA A/F and KRXO. To be blunt, this is pretty much a direct result of it. My guess here is that he finally got tired of fighting the battle of the huge debt, huge intrest payments, and penalties for missing payments, etc. I'm sure he didn't get as much as he'd like to have got, but he could sort of get out of Oklahoma with his shirt still on and keep the rest of his crap this way. I look for him to keep at least stations in his home state and likely will keep the FLA stations. Oklahoma has always just been an investment to him. Oklahoma is still in better shape, so selling stuff here would fetch more vs. what it's worth than stuff in Fla. too. Too bad he saw fit to screw up a good thing. He could have had things free and clear now if he just would have left those that knew what they were doing to do their jobs properly and keep printing money. Let this be a lesson for those owners that feel the have to "improve" what is already working decently.

Tony (the backseat driver) "got his way", but the real question is, was it worth it? Considering someone else's name will now be on the place, probably not. Bye Bye Tony. I, for one, won't miss his ownership of properties that were without a doubt better than he or the rest of his company was, and especially the cast of small-minded upper management folks. So, here's to the new LOCAL owners. Ty, Tony and the gang... Do us all a favor and just let the existing good people in-place make YOU some money. They tried to make the last guy more money, but he got in the way of that, a lot. With a little breathing room they stand the good chance of owning the market very soon IMHO.

Hopefully they will keep Buddy Wiley as OM when the sale is complete. No offense to Kevin but he maybe way in over his head as OM of a big cluster that has ratings.

The truth is they really should keep all the players on both sides of the deal. If they focus more in this situation on combined sales opportunities and less on finacial efficiencies via RIF they'll find it will work for them very, very well. Both operations are actually optimized on efficency now that the "backseat driver" pulled out of town.
