Barnes and Jimmy Baron need each other to be successful in Atlanta radio. It seems possible that neither will be in the market within 18 months (or much less), since there's really no Plan B for either to parachute into. (Though its possible Jimmy could hook on at a talk-type format. WGST, maybe?) Barnes would be totally finished in Atlanta.

Though we'll never get that data, it would be interesting to compare morning drive revenue and morning drive expenses since September 2004 for those two stations. 99x would certainly be much worse off and Dave might be a wash, only because Barnes' allure probably brought in some new clients to Dave initially and there was a slight sampling bump.

Would have to think the AEs at Dave are earning their pay right now.

I know that Jimmy would rather drive Limo's than work with that pompous idiot Barnes.

Jimmy made a funny comment this morning about that. They were talking about rockers reuniting with their old bandmates because that's the only way to make any money. He said that if had to work through a couple more morning shows he'd probably be the one to call Barnes and try to re-create the Morning X. Of course he's have to apologize for all of those "No Witness" comments.<P ID="signature">______________

Since JB's contract is up soon (May 2006 - I think), do you see DAVE try to re-make the magic?

As punishment for being a pompous bore, Barnes should be forced to board-op the David Lee Roth show.
