Just me or do the 107's sound different

last night i notice both stations seems to have 3d,surround,a spatial processor or something added... may just be a click on the old sound card.

however this morning with closer observation to Hot 107 the audio is different.
the bass sounds different.. highs different... cleaner sounding ?
and the this i noticed the most is the STL is clean. They have always had a tough shot to Hot107 a nice digital STL would probably work great and maybe is now.

so who has the word... are my ears just dirty? or did something change

if so turn the separation down some it totally too high and through lots of wierd out of phase things in... but i to like a wider stereo field myself...

The ears and a nice aftermarket equipment don't lie.

It's great to see radio groups make efforts to improve audio in an age where
most groups are deaf!

I can just no longer listen to 101.9 they have ruined the music so badly now every drop of the high end above what sounds like 8k or 9k is gone.. I'm sure
to try and clean up the very very awful sounding music library.

some markets just run it through all the digital processing wide open so the distortion covers up the crappy encoding..... kinda like K97 sounds.

I'm so sorry but a very badly encoded file never needs 20db smashed out of it in every direction

New STL's also?

I hope it didnt seem I was jumping too quick.. I did notices improvements immediatly....

hopefully hot will be cleaner sounding now...
and Q wont sound like somethings way to loud being run through something too cheap to be over driven

i finally grabbed a condenser mic
MXL V57M

i think my next couple toys are another mic, phone hybrid, and a mic processors
all on a budget though..

i cannot justify 400-900 for a phone hybrid for what i use it for.

also i need a better mixer... i have this one

R200 WHARFEDALE PRO R SERIES MIXER

its functional but doesn't really suit me or my needs

so next question

who set he processing on 107.5

wondering when they last had hearing checked

it now sounds just like it did almost before the new equipment...

basically high end is over processed and distorts

the phasing issue with what ever was adding width to the spectrum is much better now...

i dont see the point in buying new equipment if it is set to generate the exact same sound as before... why not improve the quality since it is possible?


Hot 107 on the other hand sounds much much better than before
