But believe it or not, it was not a Philly station, it was WSTW and the billboard was right next to Crozier Chester Medical Center on 95 going north. It says Graffiti Radio Music with a message WSTW-93.7-2 and thats it, they dont mention HD or HD-2, just 93.7-2...its funny no billboards in Delaware on Naamans Road near the facility or anywhere I was in Delaware....this was closer to the Philly market....but WSTW-HD-2 has a great signal for a tower a bit over 500'.....

They must have had money to burn. No one will know what a subchannel is. Heck, no one knows what an HD radio is. I know only 5 people that own an HD radio and I'm a radio geek.

I never knew they actually advertise HD stations to the streets... though, once HD Radio gets more attention and coverage starts getting stronger, they should start advertising subchannels.

The WSTW-HD2 billboard has been around for some time now. Not a bad idea to advertise for Delaware commuters driving to the Philadelphia area. And remember, this is an HD-2 with some live air people.

You'd see the billboard and if you're one of the few people with an HD radio, you'd tune to that station and hear it dropping out. Then you'll never tune to it again.

We get the message you dont like HD...The only thing I find annoying about it is THE DAMN SIGNAL STINKS...if they can upgrade the HD's the same as the main channel things would be different and you cannot dispute that....

Did I say I love mu Zune HD? Yes, if the signal can be adjusted right, without dropping out after leaving a 15 mile radius, (which I dont know why this wasn't taken care of in the first place) then HD radio would show a lot of potential in their product.

This is an interesting test for FM-HD as WSTW (93.7) is between WMMR (93.3) and WYSP (94.1).

While it seems there is plenty of room 93.7's IBOC carriers extend as low as 93.5 and as high as 93.9. Which means the lower carriers touch those of WMMR while the upper one's meet WYSP's carriers. All three stations broadcast IBOC.

If anyone is out on the roads I'd like to know how WSTW's -2 works in areas where MMR & YSP come in strong, notably Philly & the surrounding burbs. And how the two philly -2s are heard around SWT's stick.

And while this set-up is atypical for the Philadelphia market, it's standard practice for Los Angeles. Virtually every .4MHz from 92.3 up has another station. Hmmm. :D

I dont know about in the car, but with my home unit.. I am about 2 miles from the MMR-Xmtr and 7 miles from YSP and as the crow flies 23 miles from STW and there is no interference whatsoever with the 3. STW's-HD-2 and 3 come in perfect with no distortion. I always remark about the STW HD's they seem to have great coverage at around 500' can it be their brute power...

Thanks for the input. I've wondered how 'neighborly' the OFDM carriers can be and now I know. :)

FM-HD can work in an environment where stations are every 0.4MHz apart. However, where LA can have every station light up here in the northeast you may have a problem with the tight spacing where FMs can be 0.2MHz apart. :'(

To the initial poster, have seen this board a number of times and they do have HD-2 on it, next to the frequency. Also, they're probably pushing the Web site as much as the HD, since there's a full simulcast of the station on line. That seems to be the way most of the HDs are trying to get audience until there's enough hardware out there.

I could of swore the billboard location next to crozier on 95 going north just has 93.7-2 no mention of HD-2, just the number 2, which I thought odd due to the fact many people dont know what HD is and would never connect 93.7-2 with the HD.....they do promote their internet when listening to them, I did notice G-Radio is getting a bit off the wall and all over the place, at one time they were a good Alternative that played great music that other Alternatives would not touch but now they are all over the place....also for HD to really get off the ground they must increase their power, next month is the go ahead from the FCC to increase...so we will see what happens but at their current state they are almost impossible to pick up 8 miles from their xmtrs indoors...AM stereo never had that problem their signals were strong...but HD's are weak....a big problem..
